Rock n’ rollers and brewers before it was cool, Young Henrys is one of the Inner West’s very first craft breweries. They may project an image of laidback, bushy-bearded men, but in reality the team is a very diverse range of individuals, working hard to spread their beer as far as possible (which is why almost every visitor to Sydney has heard of them). Yet, there’s still a definite charm to visiting the brewery itself, where the walls are adorned with everything from fine art to graffiti and where music of every genre blasts from the speakers, often from artists with whom they’ve created collaboration brews.
You must try: When in Newtown, drink Newtowner.
Did you know? Young Henrys also creates their own brand of gin, Noble Cut, which is distilled using copper equipment from Tennessee.
