About

M.C.J. was born and raised in the craft beer wasteland that is Sydney’s North Shore. Upon moving to the Inner West in 2015 and feeling overwhelmed yet enticed by the number of craft breweries in the area, she began writing about her new adventures for a website no one read. Instead, she learnt to write interesting stories, in the hopes she could share the knowledge and joy she’s experienced in the world of craft beer.

In 2016, she landed a gig writing about Sydney’s beer scene for Melbourne-based Froth Craft Beer Magazine and shortly after that, became a regular contributor for the The Crafty Pint. Her favourite life achievements include winning Champion Craft Beer Writer during the Sydney Craft Beer Awards, submitting her PhD thesis in February 2019, and possessing an ability to write about herself in the third person.
